Brockswood Primary & Nursery School admits 30 children to Reception and Years 1-6. 

In Year Admissions

If you have moved, you can apply to change school during the school year. This is called this an "in year admission".  You can also apply if you want your child to go to a different school.

In Year Admissions are managed by Hertfordshire County Council.

Application dates & deadlines:

  • Apply from: 3rd November 2025
  • Application deadline: 15th January 2026
  • Allocation day: 16th April 2026
  • Parent accept/decline place by: 23rd April 2026

You can view your child’s position on the waiting list by viewing the on-line application page and scrolling down to the waiting list icon. This will be available mid May 2026.

If you wish to discuss delaying or deferring their child’s entry to reception (admission outside the normal age group), please contact the school office.

Applying for a Nursery Place

We offer 26 Nursery places each September. 

Nursery places are for children born between: 1st September 2022 and 31st August 2023.  Your child will be eligible for a nursery place at the start of the following Autumn term (ie: Sept  2026).

  • Application deadline: 9.00 AM on 27th March 2026
  • Allocation day: 17th April 2026
  • Parent accept/decline place by: 24th April 2026
